The relationship between Turkey and Armenia has remained tranquil since Armenia was declared an independent state in 1991. When the Republic of Armenia became an independent state, Turkey gained a new neighbor in the region after an era of conflicts.

We all know that expressing our thoughts, ideas and political perceptions are our primary rights in a free country. Yet, in Turkey we cannot deny that there is still lack of democracy and freedom, and fundamental rights and freedoms are not protected enough by the government as, Turkish public cannot express its opposition thoughts.
